No. 15 Tech Readies for Georgia Tech Classic - Volleyball

Third-ranked Florida State, No. 24 Pepperdine and Kennesaw State Join Yellow Jackets in Tournament

No. 15 Georgia Tech will welcome Florida State, Pepperdine and Kennesaw State to McCamish Pavilion this weekend for the Georgia Tech Classic.

The Yellow Jackets (7-1) will open the tournament against Kennesaw State (4-3) on Friday, September 2 at 12:30 p.m. ET. Tech will then face No. 24 Pepperdine (6-1) on Saturday, September 3 at 7 p.m. ET before closing out the tournament against No. 3 Florida State (7-0) on Sunday, September 4 at 1 p.m. ET.

Georgia Tech is coming off a 3-1 record at the Georgia State Tournament last weekend. The Yellow Jackets defeated Lipscomb, Georgia State and Alabama State before falling to No. 13 Ole Miss in the championship match.

Florida State is the defending NCAA champion and is currently ranked No. 3 in the country. The Seminoles have won their first seven matches of the season, including a victory over No. 10 Florida.

Pepperdine is ranked No. 24 in the country and is coming off a 3-1 record at the Pepperdine Asics Tournament last weekend. The Waves defeated UC Irvine, No. 25 San Diego and No. 16 Loyola Marymount before falling to No. 1 Texas.

Kennesaw State is coming off a 2-1 record at the Samford Tournament last weekend. The Owls defeated Samford and Alabama A&M before falling to No. 23 Western Kentucky.

The Georgia Tech Classic will be a great opportunity for the Yellow Jackets to test themselves against some of the top teams in the country. The tournament will also be a good opportunity for Tech to improve its NCAA Tournament resume.
