Josh Dean, a former quality auditor at Spirit AeroSystems, died on May 2, 2024. Dean had publicly raised concerns about the safety of the Boeing 737 Max jet. He was fired from Spirit in April 2023.

Dean's death is the second Boeing whistleblower to die in the last two months. John Barnett, a former Boeing engineer, was found dead from an apparent suicide in March.
